Jon Sebba
Jon Sebba, a retired engineer, was a combat soldier in the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, an experience which shaped the rest of his life. He found relief from PTSD in writing poetry, plays, short stories and memoirs. His poems bear witness to trauma and healing, and to injustice wherever he finds it. Today he leads writing workshops in a prison and at the VA, to show US veterans and other PTSD sufferers how one soldier used poetry to manage the impact of his trauma. He also writes to show civilians the face of combat as experienced on the front line. He hopes that if more understand the truth about wars, fewer will want to begin them.
