Maurine Haltiner
Maurine taught high school English for 33 years. Near the end of her teaching career, she completed a poetry-writing assignment along with her students. They were kind critics, and she has continued writing during her retirement career. She has published two books of poetry, A Season and a Time and Every Angle of Moonshine, plus one YA novel, Truth Windows. She was 2004 Utah State Poetry Society manuscript winner and Poet of the Year. Her poems have been published in Byline, Panorama, Encore, Friends of the Great Salt Lake, Grandmother Earth, UCTE Journal, Nine One One: Poems for September 11, and the Lascaux Prize, Vol. 5. She is principal second violin in the Wasatch Community Symphony Orchestra.
