William Asplund

William Asplund’s full name is Olof William Asplund but you can call him Bill or anything else that suits your fancy. He was the Past President of the Utah State Poetry Society and the President of the Ben Lomond chapter of this Society.

Bill was born in Canada and came to Utah in 1968 to teach economics at Utah State University. Then in 1976 he took a job with the Utah State Legislature where he spent the rest of he career. He moved to Layton that same year and has resided there every since. He has been retired now for 15 years.

Bill still has the first poetry book his parents gave him the Christmas he was 4:‘When We Were Very Young’ by AA Milne, and he has been reading and writing poetry ever since. He joined the Ben Lomond group 10 years ago.
